    Question Dumb Question????

Ok so i put my short ram on today to see how it would fit, and to find out if i needed ne thing else.... Got everthing together, stood back to admire then it hit me.... Now Brace yourself...

Do i need to keep my old air filter in?? I mean, I know thats why i have cone shaped air filter on the end of the short ram, but i noticed several holes in such around the stock enclouser for the air filter... Not from weathering or ne thing like that but you know, like they were meant to be there... Seems to me like those should be patched or something, but who knows? Also, could i not just make a sort of gasket to cover those holes? do you think it would hurt anything?

Thanks for the help in advance.

If I'm correct, some of those are vac lines to control idle or other things. You can tap those directly into your short ram and then remove all of the old air box and hook your intake right up to the TB. Of course, you have to drill holes in your intake, etc. If you don't want to do that, just take the stock filter out and run it like that.
No projects. Life consumes my time and money.

really, didnt know that, Ill have to take a closer look, it would be nice to have it hooked straight to the throttle body...

KK, just runing over everything making sure to cover ne thing that might go wrong, cause i want to do it, and do it right. but i wasnt sure about the filter cause i thought that if i put the old one back on with the short ram it might restrict air flow to much.... ne ways, ill drive and see how she does..

i have an 88 lx-i, if everything is the same then you dont need any holes in your intake, theres only one hose on it and it gose to the valve cover. you could either put a breather on it which is like an intake filter but smaller, or you can drill the holes and run the hose to it, it doesnt matter which one.

the stupid breather line is there for cold start help and also to give the blowby somewhere to go when you up in the higher revs. I personaly don't like hot air from my motor going into my intake so I got a breather filter looks kool to so your set with the ladies.
my car is stock it just likes sittn lower to the ground than most cars:
Lowes 3" CAI W/filter, hackd off mufflar, MSD Blaster 2 coil and bosch Platinum spark plugs&wires...she roars all the way to 6K
