So check for leaks of u prolly just drop some kind of grease or oil or something. If u have smoke coming out of your tail pipe.....I wouldnt worry bout it only if it was blue or white. then iwould. lol then u got a big problem....hoped i help man

burning oil doesn't smell like burning rubber

and, for your safety, i'd suggest stop sniffing your tailpipe.

you'll have to get more specific for anyone to be able to help. what color smoke, how much, is the car warm, when did it start (after service? after accident? after you hit a huge rock and broke your cat? etc.)... those sorts of things.

    good luck

Maybe oil is burning out the exhaust & leaking on the exhaust, can't tell with all the caps on the beginning of what little words there.

I hope you were able to fix it, but the most common culprit on these cars would be oil leaking from the valve cover onto the exaust manifold. I see a lot of junk ones where there is burned crap all over the exaust. that valve cover gasket loves to leak. also check the o ring on the distributor, if it's leaking bad oil could be getting on the exaust pipe. have you checked your pan gasket? the exaust runs right under it and dripping oil will do that. another good point is the pcv hose on the back upper part of the oil pan. they always leak and will get oil everywhere.

This is what i would assume the problem is too, when i first purchased my 87 Accord, there was some smoke coming from the engine after you drove it around for a few minutes, it wasn't too bad, but if you opened the hood it looked pretty brutal. I took it to a mechanic to get the car safetyed, and any little issues fixed up, and it was sure enough a leak in the valve seals. Cost me about $75 Canadian to get it fixed. not bad at all.
