Long awaited pics of the '39 Coupe

Here it is in all it's glory.

Here's the dash. You can see my 4th gen in the background.

Original steering column. I wonder if I can make this work.

I can't believe GM has used this frame for this long. It bolts right up!

Still a few goodies left on it.

Would you like POWER STEERING with your '39 Coupe?!

The only real bad rust is in the floor. I'll wait until the engine and tranny are mounted to the frame before fabricating the floor. There's a tad bit of body work that will have to be done on the underside of the door but nothing huge. There's no doubt this is a 3-4 year project easy.

Better bust out the Sandblaster and have fun for a weekend. It looks like it is allright shape to start a project. I can not even to start to imagine the possibilites. Once I own A house I want to start and old old school project for myself. I am thinking a Original spec Model T.

That would be cool. First I will take the body back off the frame and start from there. Once the engine/tranny is in, I'll work on the body. Who am I kidding, it's just another excuse to get half-wasted and play with power tools.

Not sure. I'm getting a 454 that came out of a drag car from a guy in exchange for some upholstery work. I might trade it for a 350 and a tranny.

small block with turbo 350 trans is always a solid choice for a street rod, and it should be easy to put into that chassis.

I've thought a bit about bags since this is going to be a cruiser instead of a drag car.

hey man that looks like a good project...lol yeah GM did reuse alot of stuff didnt they...one thing i can tell you right now...fenders for that car(if you go steel)are going to be very $$$$....luckly the frame is off the S10 so there is alot of support for that suspension and motor mount kits for the V8..also that rearend looks like it might have to be pushed back some,it looks like it may be too far forward, but you wont know until you get fenders

I thought that about the rear end too. The body and rear suspension is loosely attatched to the frame so everything's not square. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

i think that's the best part about a project like this. you can put the rear end wherever you want.

Keep it lightweight!!! I think you should put a B18C1 in there and get a 4 inch exhaust. Then turbocharge it and get decals and a big wing.

my dad has a 53' cadillac coupe series 13 that he is restoring, right now he is building a 454 for it, and working on getting parts for it, that is why it is sitting outside, i have a pic of it, just click the link below, my dad and I figured its a 10 year project before we are happy with just being able to drive it, alot of the parts are seized up from sitting outside.

I think it would be cool to have an old school caddy. I would keep my 454 if I had a caddy to put it in. Hell, I'd drop a 509 in it.

Is that caddy that noah posted the same one as the one the movie christine? You know the movie about the car that had a soul and killed a few people because they beat the shit out of it. It could also repair itself. I wish my car would do that for me with all the love I put into her.
