Removing vacum lines on EFI ???

I know that on the carb a20a1 the vacum lines can be removed
to add performance and remove some hassles that come with the vacum
system. Is it possible to remove the vacum lines on an EFI a2oa3?
Has anyone attempted this? If so was it successful?
Would removing the vacum lines have any negative affects?
such as bad mpg? What are the pro's and cons to this mod?
Can it be done on pgm-fi system?

i have removed a few, but i think it results in several lost mpg's. so far i wouldnt reccomend it. when i put in my new motor, im going to have as few vacuum lines as possible, which hopefully wont kill my mileage, i want to keep it at 30mpg or higher.

u might hit up justin86 he removed just about all of his vacuum shit. but hes running obd1, so that may have allowed him some unique flexability, but i think he did that before the obd1 swap.

if you have 86-87 accord, removing some lines will cause in jumping idle.
if you have 88-89 accord, won't have that problem. I am not sure why but that is how it is.

well you can pull most of it but I'd advise against it. In that pic all I have hooked up is the MAP which is a MUST along with the idle control which is on the driver side (86-87) on the manifold (88-89). otherwise I just removed stuff like fast idle advance, cold advance, EGR, constant vacum solenoid and A/C idle boost (all thats in the box). Which on cold days I didn't have fast idle and my mpg droped slightly, but going to OBD-1 deletes most of that shit and its all electronic controlled. Most OBD-1 systems only have MAP, EGR, constant vacum and pruge solenoid.

yo justin, on 86 accord the idle control is that black little thing (on the far right edge of the engine bay, kind of far back near the firewall) with a round top that has a vac line or two, one of which goes to the end of the intake manifold, on the side, and the other goes into the intake, RIGHT?

if so, mine is totally unhooked, and car idles just fine and dandy.... hmmmm i think it DID account for a lost 4mpg or so though

yea for 88-89 you will loose the IAB's.

yea the vac control will still work with it unhooked like you have it, but it is suppose to read vacum. Just stick you had if front of your TB and see how much vacum there is, and it isn't too hard to hook up a line to your intake to the idle solenoid.

hum I'm not really sure if pulling the lines affected the dizzy at all, the vac lines are still hooked up for the dizzy. It did suffer idle quality a little and cold start up but throttle response is insane. on my bros stock 4g I hit the pedal to the floor really quick and it might jump up to 2K were on my car it would hit about 3200
