newbie needs help won't start

I have a 88 accord LX-i 4dr auto tranny,182k "sometimes" it won't start it cranks fine then I try 5 min later and it fires right up? and then sometime it fires 1st time run fine,I'm just affraid to shut it off in fear it won't re-start,I have 3 kids I don't want them to get stranded.

Any ideas or help would be great.

My car had a similiar problem. Turned out to be a vacuum leak. My car also ran rough and would stall on occasion until I fixed the vacuum leak.

On another note, thats the best signature I've seen yet.
