your e-brake cable might be to tight, or the shoes aren't disengaging all the way. if you can't remember the last time you serviced the rear brakes then probably the latter.
jack the back of the car up and turn the wheels by hand to see if they're actually dragging. you could get the same noise from other things, i.e. a piece of rock stuck in your front brake splash shield or a bad wheel bearing or something.

the back wheels turn freely, it sounds like its right under the car but i think its the e brake coz i have to really pull it up so it stops the car properly
