About to swap out motor mounts.... *pics added*

Are there any oddities I need to watch out for? I have both front and rear mounts ready to go. I already replaced the bushings in the strut bar, and the LH mount. If the front and rear are anything like that LH mount, Im sure they are shot, as the LH mount was broken completely loose inside.
I already know how to support the engine as well.
Im also going to put on a new oil pan gasket at the same time since I will have that crossbrace out of the way. The car leaks down there like a sieve, and I am assuming its just a hardened oil pan gasket. It also seems to leak from somewhere under the head on the passenger side, kinda around the distributor area. I know it probably could use a new head gasket and distributor seal as well, but, Ill deal with one thing at a time lol.
Ok ok, so, this time its two items LOL

Should all be pretty straight forward and easy.

Re: About to swap out motor mounts....

Well after a couple hours of jacking around with the front mount, got it all in and bolted down, went to put on the top nut, and HOLY S**T, its the wrong motor mount the gave me!!!! Its now a bit after MIDNIGHT, the only time Ive had to work on the car, and now Im screwed. Hope SOMEONE will be open tomorrow so I can find a correct mount. Unreal. Im actually hoarse from screaming and cussing at the car lol. The mount they gave me has a top stud thats about a half inch shorter than the stock one, so when I put the engine down on the mount, the stud just set flush with the top surface of the bracket.

I actually had thoughts of grinding down some of the mount, but, I dont want to risk making it too thin and it breaking. Looks like the car is down until I can find someone open tomorrow or Friday. Im NOT putting in the old mount for a couple days.

BTW, the front mount was COMPLETELY broken loose inside. Probably a good part of my vibration under load, since the engine has been able to tilt back and put all its load to the firewall through the strut bar. Im so anxious to get the mounts replaced with new units to see how much it helps the shaking/vibration.

Is there any other places you guys can think of that carry good replacement motor mounts????????

Re: About to swap out motor mounts....

ive broken several motor mounts. The only one i havent broken is the rear tranny mount, thats too soft to break haha. I welded my front one solid, it works, but it also vibrates the car. For your oil leaks, id do a distributor o ring, make sure that your leak isnt from a rear main seal and not an oil pan (cant remember the last time i had a honda oil pan leak) and somtimes the valve cover gasket causes mysterious leaks, as well as the oil filter housing and or oil pressure sensor (or both)

Already got it done. Took about an hour by myself to do both once I actually had the right mounts lol. The rear mount was by far easier than the front, even though I had to do half of it by feel alone. It went in like butter. Both mounts were completely broken loose. Only thing holding the engine steady was the strut bar, the top left mount, and the CV shafts LOL. Car is much better now.

Or if I slam on the gas and see the hood bow up and hear a gawdawful commotion and the car die, I lift the hood to see what happened only to see the oil pan facing up at me LMAO.

Not really a laughing matter, It has happened before from what I hear, though Ive never personally seen an engine break loose and roll yet. Im sure there are some pics somewhere on the net by now of that phenomenon lol.
