    Preview Post Broken?

When I preview my posts blank lines disappear. They appear correctly in the preview post window, but the white space is gone in the edit post box. To submit the post I have to re-add the blank lines to my post.

Yeah, this happens to me, too.

    I mentioned this here: https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=47003&page=3

Here's the text from my post:

I didn't notice this happening before today.

BTW, great job running this board. And props to the moderators, who do a great job.

    P. S. - I had to add the spaces after previewing the post.

    Peace.
    GhettoAccord dismissed it.

EDIT: Also, some of the issues I've had are one time things. Not sure what's up with that but it doesn't bother me. Another thing, Joe, why did lostforawhile see a post I deleted?
Maybe GhettoAccord was confusing the "preview" function w/ the "edit" function".

I'm glad someone else is experiencing it. For a while, I thought it was only me.

The mods are great here. I'm sure if something can be done, it will be done.

Thanks for posting feedback. Feedback is the only way everyone can make the board better.

    Peace.

I've had similar trouble when editing the AOM Rules. When I previewed the post, I had it all formatted and spaced out the way I wanted, but when I submitted it, it came out as you described. I don't know of any way to fix this since it's a vbulletin issue, and not something that we caused with modifications.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully the next version/upgrade will fix the problem.

I know it NEVER happened before the last upgrade, so it make sense that it might be vbulletin related.

Now instead of previewing, I tend to just post it, then edit it. Adding the spaces all the time is a PITA.

    Peace.

    Re: Preview Post Broken?

wow i'm suprised this has been an issue so long

I found this suggestion on the vbulletin site:

change Threaded / Hybrid Mode mode to disable in admincp-->Threaded / Hybrid Mode Options , the problem resolved !

    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...93&postcount=6
apparently this is only an issue with firefox which could explain why not everyone sees the problem

    Re: Preview Post Broken?

Threaded/Hybrid Mode is already disabled on the board. The issue isn't so much with the posting icons, but when previewing or editing, the text gets crammed together and you lose any spaces between paragraphs.

This can be fixed by going into your UserCP --> Edit Options, and then scroll down and select "Enhanced Interface (WYSIWYG)" under Message Editor Interface.

Cool! thanks it really bugged that the lines would disappear. I guess i misread the advice given.. it was linked to from this thread which was specifically on the line breaks. though i was wondering how the hell turning off hybrid mode was supposed to fix editing

thanks for the heads up on the real solution though. hopefully it works in the 3geez garage too.. right now i've got sets of empty bold tags as spacers so i don't have to reformat every time i make and edit lol

    Re: Preview Post Broken?

I just realized you can also switch the editor format by clicking on the "A/A" icon in the top right corner of any text reply/edit box.
