I have an 86 accord ex-i and i wanted new seats but no $$$ for racing seats so i put in 88-91 prelude seats. With the lumbar adjustment and i love them. Very easy to install.

1. remove Right bracket off your Stock seats.
2. remove Right bracket off the prelude seat and drill new holes for the bolts to line up.
3. install bracket on prelude seat and bolt in your car!!!

I installed longtime ago (over 6 months )

Pretty sure thats all you might want to look close but they are an easy fit Sliders are same distance apart unlike the 85-87 prelude!!! Must be the 88-91 or your going to need a welder. Mine were from Si Not sure if that matters.

Its pretty cool with the lumbar adjustment helps for the long rides Your back dosent get sore and you can also make the seat hug you by turning in the dial. Much better then the stock seats

mine has lumbar adjustment too..........but my back still gets sore after a couple of hours.

so i take off the Right side bracket? and drill holes onto the Right (prelude bracket to match up?? im sooo confused about the right stuff.. so basically i just grab a seat, grabe a bracket, drill the bracket and put it in?? one thing i would love would be the lumbar support, but then again, i would want heated seats and to have them electrical.. lol. wow, am i way over my head.

no, you grab a seat, take the bracket off, and drill ur stock bracket to fit your new seat

Yah there we go...
You only need to drill 2 holes so you can thread the bolts through the bracket and in to the seat and the other side is a direct fit.

Ok I tried to install my Prelude seats today. First off "right side" of the seat means a different type of bracket on each side, comprende? Outer or Inner would be a better way to describe it.

Well anyway I ended up first using both Accord brackets on the seats, and they leaned horribly to the side, lol.


Then i tried using just the outer Accord brackets with the inner Prelude brackets, this worked much better, but there is one problem, only three of the bolt holes line up. Please check out below and let me know what I'm doing wrong.

they should bolt in like nothing...i just have them in my car but they dont have the rails cuz i need to paint my carpet...what color is your carpet? blue or black

wow the 86 87 seats seam to bolt up dif then the 88 89 seats my teggy seats would fit alot better in a 86 87 3g
as u can see here they dont line up im ny 88 lx but in a 86 87 it looks like they might line up

wonder whats up. i have '89 prelude seats in my '87 accord sedan. i just used the brakets from my car. fit perfect. but i found that some accords had different brakets.

hmm, I'm sure I can figure some work-around. The one good thing is that I still used my stock seatbelt mounts, so this way in the case of a crash I won't have to rely on the half-bolted seats to protect me.
