    Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...

Well the engine is in... I prolly wont be runnin it till mid to late march though... Still got alot to do... But as for the engine:
    Block:
    Cleaned
    Bored .20 over
    Honed
    Decked .015-.020
.020 Badger Pistons & Wrist pins Balanced @ 217g each
Stock Reconditioned Rods Balanced @ 518.4g each I don't remember what each end weighed though
    Recon'd Crank
Sealed Power Mains and Rod Bearings
Lower end balance @ .32 crank side .28 flywheel side
    New Oil Pick-up
    Recon'd Oil Pump
    New Timing Belt & Tensioner
    New Water Pump
    SS Freeze plugs
I believe thats about it For the block...
    Head:
    Cleaned
    P&P
    Milled .015
Stock Valves w/ 2 Angle cut
New Stock springs shimmed for 10 more lbs.
    New Ex. Guides
    Seats 3 angled
    Victor Reins Ex. Seals
    SBI In. Seals
Colt Cams Stage 1 triflow cam
All seals and gaskets are Victor Reins w/ a few exceptions.. And every one on the engine has been replaced..
There was a small Scare about Valve to Piston Clearence.. But after testing it, I'm good.. I got .150 on In. and .250ish on Ex. @ 7 degrees respectively... Well Now that the Specs are out.. Here's some eye candy...

Wow, motor looks great.. not a fan of all the blue, but sounds like it should be a nice motor.

    Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...

To tell u the truth I'm not either (a fan of "all" the blue)... But I started with it n I gotta make the scheme look "good", cause I'm too far into it to change it...
The paint Job is gonna be A black n white scheme along with the interior... The interior will have a few blue accents.. But I'm going to be sure not to over do that too...

    Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...

Nice work there, I agree on the port texture, but it's more critical in the manifold with carbs. on EFI the fuel is intected right at the ports so even if it sticks it wont be that bad.

    Re: Jigabu's Engine Rebuild/Restoration Thread...

Yes the engine is done... I gotta finish the manifolds before I fire it up though... The Rad. is stock not sure what brand.. The coolant lines are heavy duty marine hoses, I should never have to replace them... The don't bend so I used copper elbows to gettem where they needed to go...

N thanks for the congrats.. We're actually already married.. But most of her family don't know yet so we're havin a big wedding this summer... Our 1 yr annv. is on the 8th of this month...
