    what MPH at what RPM

my spedo stoped working and i need help!

my spedo broke but the tach still works

my question is, and i did use the search button, does anyone know of a chart that shows what speed you are traveling at a given speed in a given gear?

i have seen some calculators on the net that will tell you what speed you are going at a given rpm in a given gear but they require more information that i have to give you these numbers

    thanks guys

these are the shift points in the manual:

    Normal Acceleration
    2nd - 15 MPH
    3rd - 28
    4th - 41
    5th - 52

    Cruise from Acceleration
    2nd - 7 MPH
    3rd - 22
    4rd - 33
    5th - 48

i'd say the top speeds are around 3K - 3.5 and the bottom ones around 2.5ish.. (like if you're going at 3.5K rpm you're roughly at 48mph if youre in 4th

not really complete information but perhaps useful lol

it's hard to say for sure though..

3000 rpm in 4th is about 55-60 mph
3000 rpm in 5th is about 70-75 mph.
2250-2500 rpm in 5th is about 55 mph cuz thats whenmy car surges like mad.

Load and up and down hills wll make them a little dfferant.

it depends if your car is carbed or EFI, the final drive ratios are different.

I don't see how this is possible for a manual transmission--gear ratios aren't a function of transmission load. Are you referring to an automatic?

put 4 people in it an try it.

I dont have an engineering reason other than some loss in the drivetreain.

I might be able to find something at home to help you out here. I'll look into it this evening.

As far as load effecting it, that's because of the additional weight, there's no difference in the transmission.
