    Shifter

This may be a dumb question... But why can't I just cut my shifter to be a little short and rethread it?...

actually, just cutting the shifter from the top isnt going to shorten the shifts, what shortens the shifts is lengthening from the balljoint down, the top isnt going to do anything but make look smaller, i think theres a how to on this....

    Re: Shifter

ok, shortening the shaft of the shifter is done by rethreading it, shortening your throws, well ya just buy a "short Shifter" somebody was selling a pacesetter on here i believe....

    Re: Shifter

See but thats the thing... Technically wouldn't ur throw be shorter? decrease the length from the fulcrum(this case the ball) to the end...
So if I do this... Will I be doin more harm then good?...

I would just by a pacesetter but it's not worth it... Theres other performance mods I need to get first... thats why i want to cut it...

    Re: Shifter

If you just cut the shaft then your hand wont have to move farther but you will have to use a little more force. But when you use short shifter the part of the shaft under the ball joint gets longer so it moves farther when the top covers a shorter distance. I would recomend installing a short shifter if you are Installing a new exhaust since its easier to get to then, other wise the exhaust and heat shield are in the way.
