    Affordable Short intake for EFI

I don't know if this ever has been discussed. I bought a Weapon-R short intake and it put me back $110 shipped two years ago. For the little improvement I got I was a little pissed. I did a little research and the short intakes from the 84-91 Prelude with the 2.0 EFI engine will work with no modification. You can buy one of those on EBAY for $30 shipped!! With that price I would not be dissappointed. I bought one for my car just to get that shiny polished look and it fit perfectly.

full intake, headers and exhaust would net you about 15 horsepower, if you can notice 15 hp you're quite a finely tuned robot. IMO.

It's more for sound and bragging props then anything else. "Yeah man I have a cold air intake on my honda civic! BRAG"
Anybody with a pulse and eyesight can get excited looking at $250,000 supercars. It takes a special kind of gearhead to drool over an Accord, Sentra, Corolla or anything else made out of parts found in dumpsters, scrap yards, and along the side of the highway.

First off I HATE the cai. I had one in my 98 civic and hit a little puddle and my engine gulped a shit load of watter in it and blew my engine wide open!! To hell with that shit. WHy get a teg intake that needs modification? That sounds fuckin stupid compared to an intake for a 84-91 prelude that fits perfectly.

well i havent seen any 84-87 prelude cold air intakes. if you have, they are probably a closer fit. but i have only seen the short ram intakes.

since u are asking about short ram intakes then i suggest a 92-95 civic, OR you could try the prelude one, which probably would fit!

btw, all you needed was a CAI bypass filter on your civic and you may not have hydrolocked it!

I had just ordered the Air bypass and this happened. Oh well, I wanted to rebuild her anyways. BUt yeah, you can get the 84-91 lude intake off e-bay and it is a perfect fit.

home made Inake, made with Mandrel bent steel tubing, only goes upto $30 bux with everything. If you can beat that, ill consider it a good buy. and im talking about cold air, not short ram intake.

yea man what you have is a short ram, much different from a CAI. but you do have a point, until i make time to get my full CAI on with the bypass filter, im sticking with my short ram (half of my cai pipe lmao)
