87 Accord Radiator Cap

I have a simple question and know one of you 3geezers could answer it. The radiator cap gasket was brittle and cracked, so I went to Kragen and Autozone for oem replacement. Their computer and manual called for a cap that was too big in diameter.(though 13 lbs) This was my mother's car, and I know she rear ended someone once. Don't know if the radiator was replaced,(the local Honda dealer body shop did the repair work). My only thought is that they replaced the radiator with other than the original model. Was there more than one radiator filler neck diameter in '87? Thanks.

autozone should have a rack with the caps, get a ride to autozone, and take the cap with you, and pick the correct one, they should have it

My replacement radiator has a smaller diameter neck which required a smaller cap. Like russiankid said, go to autozone and pick the small diameter cap with a 13lb rating. Hope this helps.
