    Alpine CDA-7894 vs 7995

Im not sure which one to get... their both within $50-60 difference but Im not sure if its even worth it to get the 7995.... the face looks better (chrome) but if their is no difference then I'll just go with the 7894.... any ideas???

I have a CDA 7894RB & I am more than happy with it.
It took a lot of going round car audio shops and listening to decide. Then I decided Alpine but which model well the silver with the blue display (plus 3x 4v preouts) did it for me.

i would go with second one, a little cheaper but it has all the functions of the first one. so if you don't care about looks go with second one. plus you save a little you gain a little for your other stuff.

for that price you mind as well go for the Pioneer Premier DEH-840MP...MUCH better quality than Alpine. After all Pioneer Decks are loved by a LOT of MECP (Mobile Electronics Certified Professionals). just my opionion

hmm.. interesting... well I would go with a pioneer deck only it doesnt offer 60x4w.... My last deck was a Sony CDX-M620 and it had 52x4w... I was more then happy with it but I would like to have that extra power to mess around with... that and it got stolen so... plus as aerodeckuk stated 3x 4v preouts is great especially because I have 2 amps that I'm running ( a 400w interfire for my 12's and a 100w fg punch for the 2 6x9's on my rear deck in the middle of my 6's.... so in total I'll be running a true stream of approx 60w max through six speakers (8 including the tweeters in the front) which is all I really need... most decks are 35-45w per channel and are sufficent so I figure this setup will be great... plus when I had the sony I was running the 6x9's off of the 6's and it still sounded ok so I figure having that fosgate power them indivdually should sound much better... as for the 2 decks... I really love that blue and silver but I think I'll save that extra money and get my windows tinted... What do you guys think of that setup with the amps???

ACTUALLY...if you ever test a head unit, ANY head unit for that matter, that 60x4 is BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!!!....head units can only produce MAX 32x4...and that is if your pushing FULL 14.4 volts, with nothing running of ur alternator...that 60x4, 52x4 is horse crap just trying to get you to buy their product....but a head unit will usually run about 22-27x4 constantly...so if you think that 60x4 is better....then go right ahead and fall into their crap...and the Pioneer has 3 4v pre-outs, auto-mute for cell phones...ALL the goodies plus more.

The alpine head unit certainly produces more watts than my last head unit and the headunit before.(sony & pioneer)
It also takes its power from the battery via a seperate power lead not from the car loom as most do.
It is also fused with a 30a fuse so it could produce 60w x4 if you do the math.
As for the quality well I have repaired more pioneer than alpine.
    (& yes I am a electronics engineer)

I have my head unit set up with a 200w amp for the rear 6x9 and another amp for my sub (I just sold the amp and sub to upgrade soon). I will never put a amp on the front it just isnt worth it with the alpine H/U.

what are you basing the bullcrap on? if they could only produce 32x4 max, why continue to build more powerfull decks?

are you assuming that its going through the wiring harness?

    I just do'nt get it

i think Alpine is pushing at least 40watts per channel, at least. and yes it is a lot more powerful than anyother HU. I will never buy anything else.

ya I really dont see how one could say that a h/u must be restricted to a certain wattage... they each have their own internal amp... so thats basically like saying that you can only buy external amps up to a certain wattage which we know is not true... I understand what you are saying about max power and RMS power and the same goes with external amps as well... you cant tell me that a fosgate punch 1000x2w amp has the same RMS as a 100x2w punch.... Thats why amps have gains so you can adjust them to your current system... where is Bob when you need him... lol... keep it coming guys....

In general he is right. Because of the size/production cost etc. constraints of headunits, they only produce (on average) between 18 and 30 watts RMS (above he meant 32 watts per channel is the most you could ever get, rms, out of a deck). What they say, like 50x4 is of course, peak wattage. It's just a known fact that hu's don't have more wattage than that.

Bumblethumper, i agree on you pioneer advice also.
