    dropping the tank

    anyone ever drop the tank on their car ?

    i let both straps down and it didnt move. is it just stuck or am i missing something.
    i did pull the little plugs under the backseat and it has some really soft tar under there. is the thing tared on ?

    When I did my EFI conversion, I dropped the tank of my parts car.

    Other than the 2 straps, nothing "holds" the tank in place (at least on an Accord)

    The only thing that might prevent the tank from dropping is
    1- Fuel lines
    2- Fuel pump wires
    3- Rusted out crap


    Make sure all the lines are disconnected from the pump and it should drop.

    Anyway, you should at least see it sag if you remove the straps....

    nope, it fell down like a cm. maybe. i pried on it for a while with a big bar, but it wasnt moving much more.

    so i put it back together and ran my return line to the small filler pipe.

    i'll do the tank later. i just wanna have it cleaned out before i put my new engine in.
