    Budget

So, lets say you have about a $2k budget on an '88 LX 5-speed with 160K miles on it, what would you do to it and why? I'm just asking because I've searched and found lots of options, and now I can't make a choice... Just looking for other peoples opinions.

EFI conversion. OBD1 conversion. Turbo. That should do the trick

turbo and megasquirt if you wanna do fuel injection.

or sway bars... strut bars. and lowering. Then with the left over do header and exhaust.

Dyno'd the accord. It made 104HP 117TQ.... And blew smoke everywhere. I guess the 210K motor really is done

    Re: Budget

I wouldnt spend to much money on motor upgrades, maybe just a K&N filter, 2-1/4 piping, high-flow-cat, muffler. Maybe a racing seat(if its a 2dr or hatch but not a 4dr). But i would upgrade youre suspension, springs, shocks,se-i sway bars(w/polygraphite bushings for 4g accord), strut tower bars, 15-16in rims w/sport tires. You wont get much out of the motor unless you got more cash but i prefer handling over straightline performance and i believe with these upgrades itl be a G-machine. But if you want sraightline performance swap an a20a3(fuel-injected accord motor) and turbo it, or go the expensive route and get a B20 (JDM accord motor) it has 160hp and swaps write in (check the how-to's) either way keep us updated with youre decision.
No more 3G but that doesn't mean i cant look at yours...

    Re: Budget

Alright i know the racing seats wont improve performance per say but theyre lighter than stock(the real racing seats anyways), and the improvement probobly doesnt exist since its not a big enough drop in weight. The reason i recomended it was because it can help keep you in front of the steering wheel instead of fighting the g-forces if you like driving through mountain roads at faster than the posted limits. And as for the rims id go with 15s because of the lower ratational mass and the fact that you fit wider tires on them and buy better gripping tires(Which helps acceleration, handling, and breaking dramaticaly)
And you cant deny the cool factor of having a racing seat in youre car even though it is a 3g.

here is my 2 cents, if you want faster car, take that $2K and buy yourself something better.

I wouldn't waist the money on carbed 3G.
