can i just addit on or what?

ok so im up town tonight and im talking to my buddy who just got back from a local nopi race war. he bought a new intake head ( i guess a intake head is the big papery piece on a intake) and gave me his old one. he told me all i had to do was put it on and clamp it off....is that true? i mean i dont wanna put it on and screw something up. i mena is it as simple as put it on and clamp it off or what?
