speedometer calibration

umm..... yah, i didn't know where to put this thread, so i put it here

so, i made gauges, and now, my speedometer is messed up. i don't have any GPS system, and i'm not really happy about spending money on getting a shop to fix it. i've asked a friend to drive at speed limit to help me see how much the speedometer is off by. but, now, it still seems like i accelerate from 0km to 50km in less then 4-5 seconds. can somebody please help.

what transmition do you have?
this one for 5 speed. you should be doing 30mph in first gear at about 6000rpm.
i am tired so i can't remember exact numbers at what gears. i post it later.

100 km 60 mph > 2750 RPM in 5th gear ! i am sure of that !

if you live in a small town, explain to a local cop your problem and see if he'll clock you. then just adjust the needle accordingly.

Do you have your stock wheels if not it will also throw off your speedomoter.

i know i run exactly 3k at 70 mph (verified with GPS) but my tires are slightly oversized (205-60-14)

89LXi4dr, With the 205/60/r14 your tire height is 23.7 in. and I'm assuming you have a stick with the stock gear ratio's for the 89 accord and the new tire's that are on your car if the rpm's are correct at 3k rpm you should be going 75 mph.
