Have a slight issue....

Well, it all started last night when I was at my cousins house. I was just leaving and made it maby 12 feet back when an unbarable smell came. Smoke started getting thick and you could see the yellow flames under the seat. I already had just bolted the seat back on as you can see in the picks so i could only get a picture of a spot where a coal or something burnt a hole clear through. After 10 minutes I managed to get it out. The cause of fire is unknown but what sucks is my computer is done for, its burnt to crisp. Hopefully I can find a computer and get her back on the road, I recently dropped 1k+ on a suspension pics and alot of turbo stuff because I already have everything for a quick tranny swap. I will put that on hold, the only good thing is I can return practically everything I bought incase I had to.

you need a computer form a 86-87 the 88 and 89 computers are diffrent

i believe bitesize has a computer for an 86-87 for sale, if he hasnt sold it yet. that sucks man, but thats a good lookin 3g. smoke those lights tho!

yea just for future reference if its an lx ex, or dx its carb, LX-i, EX-i and SE-i are fuel injected

Well, it looks like a gentlemen at work is selling a 3g accord for 250.00, its in decent shape, but I think I am robbing the computer and the fog light switch. I will post some more pics soon and pics of the this car I am going to get. This is a 1986 Honda Accord LX-i for reference if anyone was wondering. Under the hood isnt bad but of course the heat got some stuff under the hood but I am painting some things under the hood to bring it back to life I will pos pics later today. I hope to get this computer and get everything working. Thanks for all the help and comments.

Isn't that wiring under the burned spot? Sure you didn't pinch a wire when you bolted the seat down

The computer itself is burned to crisp, I bolted the seat back because I have no wear to put it and i didnt want to lose the bolts, its not bolted down all the way . there are a few burnt wires where that spot is but they look like my rear speaker wires.

On the drivers side right?? I'm pretty sure that harness leads to the ECM too... Anything else not working on the vehicle??

Ive checked the majority of things, everything inside works, it starts now, but definently isnt right. Ive had my buddy cisco scan everything, its definently the computer.

so, are you buying a parts car? if you are, you should part out what you don't need to make some quick money. lots of us around here need parrts.

now, your problem seems to be that you have had something short out. i think that's pretty obvious, though. be glad you caught it when you did. looks like that was brand new carpet, too. if not, it was MINT looking.

I will admit, the car is mint, I really cleaned the heck out of it, the carpet was pretty much new because no one sits in the back, but I have to do something about the carpet now. Not sure yet.

A friend of my never told me he had an accord out in his old barn. He let me have his computer, he also has a set of DC Sports Headers fairly new, he hasnt touched the car in years, its carbed dx i think. Well thanks everyone for the help, the honda is back running finally. Now to do some cleanup on the burnt stuff.
