I am not the type of person to crank my system up really loud, nor did I want to drive around with pounding bass, I just wanted a little extra kick from my stock sound system. The stock Bose speakers sound good, but did not have much low end.
Before I purchased any aftermarket speakers, I wanted to see if it would be worth it.
Using parts I had sitting around my basement, I did the following:
(Inside the speakers are 12 inch subs)
It sounded nice, but used up all my trunk space (and passenger seat), which was not acceptable.
These speakers worked so good I figured I would keep them and use them in my car. I found a older Pioneer car amplifier at a garage sale for $10 that can drive these speakers. The speakers are hooked in parallel (8 Ohms total) which works fine with the old amp. Now I just have to build new enclosures for these speakers so they do not use up my whole trunk.
