If you have the center console with the cassette holder, Just use a dremel
and cut out all the dividers. You should be able to fit a 7" screen in there.
That can be done, but why would you want a screen there? Kinda difficult for the passengers to play games/watch movies and I surely don't want to take my eyes that far off the road to see a satnav system.Originally Posted by 86-accord-lxi
If you're good with fiberglass and bondo, make a custom enclosure that fits on the dashboard (unless it's illegal where you live, most states prohibit displays that are in view of the driver UNLESS you are using a satnav system).
Heres one installed in a G1 teg, they are prettymuch the same as ours...he did a killer job on it.....

I can't read the signature rules so MrBen deleted my signature.
ive always been thinking of getting the fold-out systems and having that custom installed where the clock area on the dash is. that would be perfect.

I think one fiberglassed in the glovebox would be way sweet! Just angle the screen towards the middle of the car a little bit and you're set.
I wonder how much modification would be necessary to fit that teg center consol into our cars...Originally Posted by Bglad420

The determination of tomorrow is today so party like theres no tomorrow for it will never come!!!
you should look for the prefab headrest monitors. Those save lots of time and money, but mostly time.

something like this, I think they have 7 and 8 in versions from a few companies, I've seen the power acoustik and boss ones and they're pretty good.

it's legal as long as you have installed a relay or such to prevent it from operating when the ignition is in the on position, car is running it has to be inoperable. just do what I did,put one in the back for when you are parked.EG a lot of monitors have a parking brake wire, the monitor won't operate unless the brake is pulled, the sophisticated systems with tv and nav, only the nav funcion operates while the ignition is on. https://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=50932Originally Posted by Sabz5150

Some systems do have the lead to connect to the handbrake light so that the handbrake has to be pulled for the display to work. For legal purposes (and simplicity of installation in a 3g), that's probably your best bet for wiring.Originally Posted by lostforawhile
if it doesn't have one,use a standard bosh relay, the power for the monitor goes through the relay, one side of the coil goes to something switched with accessory like your radio, the other goes to the wire coming from the switch in your handbrake. that way, when the handbrake is pulled, you have ground to the relay coil, the relay pulls in,your monitor comes on.Originally Posted by Sabz5150
I had a 15" LCD in my dash in saskatchewan here and I went through many stop-checks wityh the cops. A couple times I got good comments on it, saying my system was better than theirs lawl
