    turbo A20A4 backfires, then dies

my new setup on my 85 prelude is a A20A4 is a turbo, with a megasquirt fuel injection computer, I think I leaned it out as i was spinning the tires in 2nd gear, It backfires, then dies., i have spark, feels like i still have compression. would a backfire screw up my injectors? I'm baffled. I dond know what else a backfire would hurt to make it not fire at all. ?

the megasquirt was fairly simple to install, I will post pictures as soon as i can find some online storage space. I do have the aftermarket fuel management stystem wired into all the stock sensors, other than the 02 sensor that is attached to the mitsu turbo, robbed out of a 2.5 turbo Dodge shadow.

Your dizzy might be getting ready to go kurplunk on you. Me and a buddy of mine had the same problem when we were doing an install of a B16 on a guys car. BUT back fire is bad if you leaned it out too much but check your P's & Q's anyway.

i think that if it was off by a tooth it would still run just rough, you can get a compression tester pretty easliy, if the compression is off over all 4 cylinders then you found your problem

would a lean backfire cause the cam to jump teeth or screw up my injectors? I'm not getting it to fire at all, not even a sputter

unless the belt was loose or something, i doubt a backfire would cause anything like that. as for a backfire messing with the injectors, its possible, but it would most likely be just one injector that was damaged. if you have a voltage tester, see what voltage you're getting on each injector. check voltage on injectors, spark plugs and wires. also, are you getting enough pressure through your fuel system? that would be important to have enough pressure for fuel injection. even though you have new parts they may not be working. this is one reason i'm sticking to carbs on my accord, no real electrical worries on it. although turbo might sometimes be more fun. if you are looking at posting up pictures, use photobucket.com to store them. that seems to be the easiest way i've found to load and share pictures here.
