Tail light bulbs

This is the second time that the bulb in the pass tail has blown it was replaced only about a week or so ago. I was just wondering if this is a common problem and if so what if anything is here that can be done to fix the problem. all the other electrical componants are working fine just the one bulb.

what i'd try and do, is check the wiring as far back as you can to see if there is any imperfection in the insulation. There may be 2 wires causing a short near the bulb.
