About six months ago, my 89 LX-i was giving intermittent trouble starting in hot weather. I took apart the main relay and indeed the joints were bad, so I fixed them.
Six months later, today, its giving the same problem, but now the weather is cold. Here is my question:
The car turns over but does not start. With the key on # 1 position, the check engine light does NOT go out after 2 seconds, however I can feel a click happening while holding the relay in my hand. This happened after I drove the car on the highway for 15 miles. The relay was quite warm after the 15 minute drive.
The solder joints on the relay look very clean and there are no cracks (just like the day I fixed them). Since the CEL is not going out, should i be looking someplace else?
