    Magnaflow muffler size?

What size of Magnaflow Muffler should I get. It's the one that looks like a stock muffler. I want 2 1/4 inlet and outlet, how long should I get the muffler? 18 inches long or 14 inches or so......?

Any suggestions, I'm sick of my fart can.
Please only answer if you know what you are talking about...

Or anyone with a stock muffler go measure how long yours is...(your muffler that is)

i'm pretty sure the 60 or 90 series will work, although i dont know if you'll like the sound any more. if you have a really cheap fart cannon it will for sure make it sound better though.

I have a magnaflo the same size they tone it down real nice,i got 2.5'' pipe from the cat back,no resonator-its nice and low sounding. When i'm on the freeway crusing between 2000&3200 rpms iit's fairly quiet, but when you get on it's pretty loud hehe.

    Re: Magnaflow muffler size?

I had a magnoflow on my hatch it was 14" long and about 9" wide with 2 1/4 inlet/outlet. I was gonna get the stainless steel finish but ended up getting the natural one because the polished had center inlet and outlet. The one i got had an offset onlet and center outlet but i cant remember what model it was.
Anyways to get to the point its definatly noticably deeper than stock and sounds nice and sporty. I recomend it if you want a nice sound (its deep and bass-y but not fart-can levels off deep base) thats sportier and more distinct and sophisticated than stock but not if you want people to hear you from a block away.

Mines Borla not Magnaflow, but same concept.

Mines the Borla Pro XS, 2.25" Inlet/Outlet, with a C/O setup.
    Dimensions are: 14x9.5x4
(14" long, 9.5" wide (left to right), and 4" tall (top to bottom))

Heres a pic of how it fits under the car.

Hope this helps, even if its a diff brand.

    Re: Magnaflow muffler size?

I paid $85 installed ( just for the muffler and instalation) and my exhaust was stock( no high-flow cat or 2 1/4 piping). But if your willing to spend a little extra try and get the stainless steel ( it would of been $110 for the stainless) if you want a little show. i think itl look better especially with the color your car is. Keep us updated with youre decision and if you can post some pics up afterward.
oh and tell us what you think of the sound afterwards.

    Re: Magnaflow muffler size?

Heres a rear shot, i need to reposition it kuz its not centered and it sits up too high. But i kind of like it kuz its not visible unless youre on the ground, or bumper level.

Here are a few rear shots of my car:

Heres my ground clearence with 2.25" pipe

    Edit: oh ya

    muffler - $65 shipped
    universal res - $25 shipped
    test pipe - $33 shipped
    2 10' sticks of 2.25" pipe - $20 shipped
    1 180* mandrel bend - $18 shipped

I did all of the labor myself, put on my header and cut/welded all of my pipe together.

Also, if you follow my setup, i recomend TWO 180* mandrel bends, or 1 180* and 1 90*, notice my cheap bend at the very end going up to the muffler.
