Looks pretty good. Is that a homemade intake?
Thank you... I was considering polishing my vavle cover... N now that I see how the a20 will look, I've got a new plan... Very nicely done though...
bravo
thanks guys it took about 2 full days working on it cause i couldent take it off . i used the aircraft remover, them about 5 different grits of sandpaper and ended up using 2,000 grit sandpaper... plenty of mothers aluminum polish , and ive also polised the battery tie down and i polished the hood prop up stick after the pick was taken ... ohh btw that was a 25 doller air intake

looks good. i need to do something to my valve cover soon. and i see you opted out of the timing belt cover. and with removing the stock filter box like i did when you put on your intake.
I am also probably going to need to do that soon... the paint or w/e kind of coating it is, is finally starting to give way after 250k miles. I'm not so sure about polishing it.... i'd do that if i was setting up my car for show, but i'm just going to go for the new stock look.
props on the hard work there, looks great.

drive down to norfolk well have a meet...lol just the 2 of us 3gers... theres some others around too, actually
its one of those things that are hard to give directions to, they tend to very from person to person. like they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. its one of those things you kind of have to practice and get a feel for. i have found that my skills have improved over time.Originally Posted by SQ is the SQUAD
you basicly just want to sand the casting texture smooth so you have no pits or imperfections. most people start with 400 grit sand paper. then you work with a finer grit sand paper smoothing the lines from the previous grit. to figure out when you move on to a finer grit, you just use your better judgment. most people go up to 1000 grit before switching to metal polish for the mirror reflection. the more you buff, the greater the reflection. later.

For all that work, you could have just had it "chrome powdercoated" and not worry about corrosion and such.
Looks good though![]()

well, imo, i'd say polished aluminium looks nicer to me than powder coat of chrome. its more of a silvery color. i was thinking of getting that done to mine though. but i just decided to polish it out.

it should be there tuesday... So take your keyboard and wrap it around your neck and hang yourself with the cord.
I started polishing mine but there were so many pits in the casting that i would have been sanding for months. I just decided to paint it instead.
sand it down with some 400 grit, then some 800 grit. thats what i did. possibly cut it smoother with a final sand of 1000 grit, then polish. mine was bad.
