    Stock. :P

All red would make it look like a domestic, plus the finish is never as shiny as real plastic. That' the problem with any taillight coating. You can just always tell it's been painted. I htink the stock tails look wonderful if you buff them with a buffing wheel, and clean out the insides.

    Re: taillights....

I think that looks clean... the black is reinforced/accented, whatever you call it.
Although it could be done cleaner... seems some of the lines are a bit wavy... unless those are pools of dirt in the lights

    Re: taillights....

I vote all red. Done right they blend fine and you cant even tell they've been painted. Mine would look a hell of alot better if i buffed them to give them that nice shine.

    Here is a pic:

Ignore the line/indent on the side of those... long story

These arent the set on my car, but a set i painted for a 4door (still for sale if you want them), they are GLOSSY as hell. And ive since then painted the black part again too. Damn clean i must say.

My point being, red outs can look factory if you take your time and do them right.

Those look painted. Sorry dude. If I squint, or if I saw the car from 10 ft away, maybe, but not up close. The finish looks like spray paint, not clean super shiny plastic.

    Re: taillights....

yes, the set on my car COULD look better. But i didnt see the need, the rest of my car/trim is fading/oxidizing so i didnt want to have overly shiney tails.

If i spent 15-20 min with a buffer and maybe some light wet sanding im sure i could get them to shine, just like the set i have for a 4door.

Okay dude. But until I see some that are done correctly, I'll stand by my original statement. They look painted. I think that if you buff the stock tails they look pretty nice.

    Re: taillights....

I can find the nuts that fit them, but i dont have them handy.

    Id ask for $25+shipping probably.

Overall, it would be easier for you to do it yourself.

I put $60+ into these tails, my loss is your gain.

Im willing to negotiate the $25+shipping, but not TOO much.

    Re: taillights....

The only way for them to look right is paint the inside of the plastic, as you would the inside on the body of an R/C model car.

Problem is only the JDM light separate easily into peices and have a clear removable lense.

With a JDM lense and USDM lense frame/body you can make any corner light you want. Thing is it's only good for sedans... Unless you want to try and fit sedan lights on the Coupe.

    JDM

    USDM

Depends on what color you are painting it, if I missed reading it.

My bad just read the title. I'd go clear/red with the white paint.

    Re: taillights....

well i cant go back to stock, since i already have the tails all clear, i just need to finish the trunk ones, but im not sure if i should leave them all clear or what, so stock isnt really an option, and if i painted them all read the would look really good because the color would be all even, but im thinking of doing something different and doing them black and clear, i dont think anybody has tried that one here yet, so maybe ill be the first....

It's pointless for A20A1 and me. None of those are DOT legal, and even if they were, we have a special recon law here that make all of those lights illegal here.

    Peace.

heres a better pic of my tails in the sun

granted, yes, they could use a little wet sanding and buffing... but for straight spray paint and clear coat, it looks damn good IMO

But in that pic they still look painted. The center lights anyway. Sorry. I am a stickler. I don't like it when stuff looks too aftermarket unless it's for performance... like rims, tires, exhaust, etc. I like stock looking cars that have been tuned to perform better. :P

    Re: taillights....

Thats fine, i respect your opinion. I wasnt trying to change your opinon, just merely show you that painted tails can look good. That last pic of mine is partially because it was a pic taken with a video camera. If you look at the rest of the car.. the shine looks strange on the body's paint as well.
