i've been reading this forum for a while, currently I don't own any honda, 3 years ago I was looking to buy an SEi, i went to see 11 of them, 3 2nd gen lude and 3 volks... the honda's were just too much rusty (when you can stick your fingers thru the strut tower's metal it's bad!) as I wanted a really clean car to keep it a looong time... i saw a ugly automatic rabbit then a '89 Jetta Trophy with '98 engine but... I am too much an OEM guy to get a swapped car
then one day I found a really clean Trophy, one which was stored between '00 and '03 and which had not seen winter since '92. The price was twice as much as I planned to pay but I couldn't let this one go so I bought it.
since this day I bought another Trophy for winter and for a futur project
FYI, Trophy's are a limited edition of Jetta's, about 150 exists in Canada only, the Helios Blue is it's sister in the USA. all the trophy's are 100% identical, half leather Recaro's, BBS wheels, 16v engine with close ratio gearbox, AC, electric windows and much more!
since then, the car now has an euro intake bought here by a friend, 11" Corrado G60 brakes at front and I got the A/C working
I am a friend of Carotman and know Legion too.
I am looking to someday try to make a "conversion kit" for carburetor Accord's to get them running on Bosch Continuous Injection Systems (known as CIS or K-Jetronic) with Carotman's help. this would be an realy easy swap and be much more easy to tune with way less problems than carburetors since there is about 10 sensors and not much more wires than on Honda's Carb's
Oh btw, Old school is the way to go!
as for the 3rd gen part, I plan on importing an Aerodeck someday (:
now, time for some pictures, more pictures here linky link, my album with some comments
