Installed power locks on my 1gee, pics! (semi how to guide)

I bought this cheap central locking kit I bought for cheap from local auction site. This central locking kit comes without remote, I'm going to install alarm later. The kit comes with a wiring harness, linkages, lock fittings for the linkages, screws, and a control module.

Front door:
Remove the door trim

Insert a flathead screwdriver to remove the clip for the winder

Pull the panel slowly

I know its ugly!

Pull out the plastic and remember to put it back once done.
Take a good look inside the door while locking/unlocking it to see how everything works.
Test fit:

I didn't take a pic on where the actuator attached to but you get the idea. make sure it doesn't interfere with window mechanism or other things

Now for the rear door, same like front, remove the panel, test fit, drill holes etc:

Right door. Looks like the rear right door has been replaced before, you can see the different color

Now for the fun part, wiring!

Stock loom for the ashtray light wire which I'll use to route the lock wires:


Theres no loom on the driver's door as there is no astray installed, what I did is use the stuff they used for computer case modding "power supply cable sleeving"


I tied the wires to the door


For some reason I've lost the last wiring pics, but it is pretty simple, install the module under the dash near the hood release handle. You'll see theres 2 unused screw holes (at least on my car) that you can use to attach the module to. Connect the wires and all done. Took me the whole day to get everything installed!

looks good...im planing on geting some too...but for the 2 front doors since i dont give alot ot ppl rides...plus i want to keep it light weight. my neighbor is going to do everything for 120 including alarm and locks openers.

Installed the alarm today, no step by step pics. Its such a PITA! I blew 4 fuses, because I use the wrong wire for blinker/indicator light lol. the color is the same, but it is different. After all installed the car wont crank. I was like wtf? the solenoid ticks, but the starter doesn't crank. Turns out the connectors under the dash are loose when I mess around with them.

The car did start, but... it won't idle. double wtf?! same reason, loose wires for the anti-diesel solenoid thinggy.

Took me the whole day to get everything installed. My first time messing with the car wiring.. I think I did a better job than shop lol. I hide all the wires and the alarm brain under the dash, you can't even tell that its there :p

However, you could attach the metal brackets at both ends on the front doors door frame to prevent any unwanted movement of the actuator. (just like the rear doors). I don'T know if it'S possible to do it the way it's installed.

The bracket is too short, plus the actuator is pretty secure that way
