Are 86'87' rear upper arms diffrent from 88'89'?

When i got my car dropped the guy that helped told me to change out my rear upper arms. So i go to the junkyard and they pull them for me. When i go to put them on they look slightly different. Could they have given me the wrong year control arms? Do they even differ from 86'-89'?

They show the same part number for all the 86-89. What was wrong with your old arms?? If it's the balljoints, you can take just the balljoints out of the arms and replace them with new ones.

Yeah man the control arm is a piece of METAL, it's solid. Nothing can really "go wrong" with it unless it gets bent somehow.
Like YK said, the ball joints might (and most likely) be bad, if you cnat remember replacing them.

Same, but maybe the junkyard ones were aftermarket ones?? They do fail and the AM ones do not come with a dust shield, either, for the castle nut.
