Ok, so Problem: Trashed one tranny, got an $800.00, 50 thousand km used one. 2.5 months later, trashed with same problem.
Symptoms: metal shavings in tranny oil, lots of them. makes a nice silver fleck . It seems that my "pinion" inside my tranny is wanting out... on the first transmission it blew a hole in the casing it wanted out so bad.
ok so, i apologize if my vocab is wrong I'm going off what my tech told me at work today, cas he helped me put in this tranny. Anyways there are two theories that I'm going with here and I'm really really wondering if anyone has ever encountered the same problem... because lots of ppl are lowered but nobody has said much bout blowing out transmissions...
Theory 1: Axles are suppose to be on somewhat of an angle stock. This gives the axle play in order for when the vehicle goes over bumps correct? just as an example we'll say its a 10 degree angle they sit on (this is just an example not real stats). so inside the axle boot close to the transmission, the axle can move inwards and outwards depending on the bump. Lowering your car therefore would decrease this angle and push the axle inwards towards the transmission.
So when lowered, we have come to a conclusion that the axle has been pushed in soo much that it is right against my differential in the transmission, and banging up against the pinion and like what happend in the first transmission pushing it out.
Has anyone come across this? anyone have a solution that will help while still lowered? does anyone make shorter or performance axles for our cars? I ahvent seen anything like this on the site so I never looked into it.
Theory 2: Motor Mounts are way too weak lol. but we dont kno cas the same problem happened twice within 3 months....
And now I'm 800$ in the hole plus the cost of finding ANOTHER transmission...
Thanks to all who read my rant and thanks to anyone who can help with this question.
