    rota sizing help, please

i have a set of si rims on my 88 accord now. i'm thinking of purchasing a set of rota slipstreams, size 16x7. i have several questions:

    1) they come in 16x7, with an offset of +40 or 45mm. which one should i get?
    2) i have sprint springs in the rear, 2.25" drop, and modified weapon r coilovers in front, about 3" drop. will i have any problems with rubbing, or negative camber /-------\ ?
    3) tires on it will be 205-45/R16. what are the widest tires i can fit on a 16x7 wheel?
    4) what recommended size tire should i go with my current suspension setup?

good choice on rims, i got 15's with nitto 205s, with a very very similar suspension setup, i reccomend the 45mm offset, i have the 40 and it just barely clears the rear fender well, i run 205's aswell, good luck duude

i don't have a digi cam or a webcam to take pics. if i don't buy those rims, then i'm thinking of investing in a decent digi cam. si's are ok, but they look kind of small. its kind of like that circuit city commercial, guy: honey, i still see the gap, gal: its fine. referring to the gap b/n the top of the tv and the entertainment center it fits in.

chronicsinners, what size tire are you running, 205-50/R15? what's your drop in back?

It would be a non issue for you to go with 205/45-16 and 40mm offset or 45mm offset for that matter. 205/50-15 and 205/45-16 have the same overall dimensions. What you might be able to do is run 215/40-16 with the 45mm offset and roll the rear fenders.
And that's after I compaired 215/35-18 tire spec data to 205/45-16 tire spec data. The 18's is are a greater challenage to fit then the 215/40-16 tire would be, so I don't see a problem, when matched with a 45mm offset that is, and you will likely have to roll the rear fenders. But if it was me I'd still have a certain amount of worry, even with the data saying it should work with out a problem, the 205/45-16 size is, a absolute sure thing, just my 2 cents.

thanks, jim. what if i decided to change the tires and go 205-40/R16, would that be a sure thing too, since the overall diameter is smaller?

well yeah, but why would you want to do that? The 45 does a much better job of filling the wheel well and the 40's make the rims look smaller than 16's, IMHO!
