Question stuck... ...do I go All performance, or a little less perf. with the right look?

Ok, it's time. Today is the day I buy my springs.

It's a toss up bet. the B&G and Progress.

    So here it is:
With the help of Jim and Steve, I've narrowed it down to those two options.

So here's what's in mind while I'm trying to make my decision.
I do already autocross, but not with the 3g, however I do want to begin bringing her out.

Both spring set have a very similar spring rating. The only diff. is b&g=1.6 drop and Progress=2.0 drop. The b&g will be better for all out Auto-x, but the progress I feel will do just about as well but offer the little lower ride height which is appealing to the eyes.

I just can't make up my mind....

:lol And I can't make your mind up FOR you either

One additional thing to think about. If you are the type of persone that doesn't like to slow down so much for driveways and speed bumps that is a reason to go with the B&G's. Another thing to think about is the fact that the struts are NOT shortened units so that extra 1/2" will help keep them from bottoming out on the inside of the strut itself. Koni can shorten thier struts for $65 per strut btw.

It's up to you man. I bailed on the progress springs since I wanted to have the extra 1/2". But just like you I knew it would look better a little lower. What to do, what to do.

ok, it's a done deal. After seeing pics of Carrotmans car with the neuspeed (1.5) springs I have chosen to go with the b&g's at a 1.6" drop rather then the progress.

being that I do autocross, and will certainly autocross very agressively in order to compensate for the lack of power now being that I'm in a harder, more competitive class.

The springs will get here thurs. and I'm hoping to put them in friday night of sat. I'll post pics as soon as I get them in.

Yep, you never see me looking at swaps or turbo's or really anything over and above simple power mods. Yeah more would be nicer, but I was having plenty of fun with the power I had.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting some Neuspeed 1.5" in a bit, but what kind of shocks should I get? I like a tight ride, and don't mind if I sacrifice some luxury dampening for some extra cornering.
Good bye to the 1989 DX Type R. Hello 2001 LX.

koni is the best of the best for our cars. (at least, that's my opinion), but if budget will not permit for that, the Tokico's are a close second.

PS...if you wanna see what the B&G's look like on the car....

and oh yeah.. B&G, you can kiss my ass if you really think that this is only a 1.6" drop.. ...it's more like 2.6. Anyway, it feels real real good sitting on the Koni's. Thanks for the advice Jim, and everyone else that helped me out on this.

The first thing you should know is that the neuspeeds are the softest lowering spring you can get for our cars. So you can't make it any easier on the struts than to go with them. And I have reason to think that the H&R's that I was running are the same stiffness as the neuspeeds. A number of members have mentioned that the tokico's are to soft in the front for duty with lowering spirngs. One of those members is running them with the neuspeed springs. So Koni's in the front at least, is the way to go. I had them and they are not stiff struts, they are firm with enough power to properly deal with your stiffer lowering springs. Any softer and they would not be able to control the springs and would bounce. That's the way the Bilsteins were and I pulled them off the car cause I could not stand the way the car rode and drove. Their really isn't any reason why you can't save a few bucks and run the Tokico's in the rear. If you can afford it, go ahead and get the koni's in the rear as well. So that setup would cost $159 for the springs, $216 for the front Koni's and about $110 for the rear tokico's.

I just can't get over how low your car is vs. how low it's surposed to be. Looks great though.

thanks Jim. Yeah, me neither, this is almost to the point of rediculous with how low they made my car. It's so low that when I went to Town Fair Tire to get my front end allignment, they turned me away b/c they said the car was too low to make it on their lift. Now what the hell am I supposed to do?
