whats the difference between the A20A1 and A20A3 blocks?

    http://autos.msn.com/research/compar...=t1421&v=t1418
apparently those 2 accords have the same block, but the bore and the stroke are different. is this an error?

i have an 86 EXi and that auto page only goes back to 88. i gotta rebuild my engine soon enough, but would i have any problems if i happen to buy a carbed block and an EFI rebuild kit? im asking mainly cause that page lists the bore/stroke different on the same engine block.

i also see the compression ratio isa bit different. would i benefit a bit from using the carbed block with the lower compression ratio for turbocharging? i dont plan to run much boost, maybe 7-10PSI

well, don't trust that data whatsoever.... it shows the LXi having 16 valves... and a honda with more torque than hp? that's a bit odd.

dont accords had more torque then hp, but only by a few?

what about the second question i have about the compression ratios? would i benefit from using a carbed bottom end cause of the ever so slight compression ratio?

bore and stroke are the same. the pistons are what make the CR difference, with the carbed pistons and 86/7 LXi pistons having lower compression than the 88/9 LXi pistons. camshafts also played a roll in the extra gain between the years.

the blocks are exactly the same, but adding to what vanilla sky was saying, i think all FI pistons are the same regardless of year, what gives the power difference in 88-89 lxi vs 86-87 lxi is the intake manifold and exhaust manifold
