9 second a20!! a to b series tranny adapter plate!!

it is interesting that he is using an a20 in this car. i wonder if its because:

a) the a20 is acually really good and worth using in race applications
b) he already had the motor so why not
c) just to be different

it would be cool if (a) was the case and the a20 is just the best choice! we might start seing some aftermarket engine parts if civic drag guys start building a20s! :P it sure couldnt hurt anyway!

we held in the prelude in the begining of last season quebec's fastest honda for a while, I think we're the 2nd fastest sohc next to bisi.

. I think being a 2.0L SOHC that is solid as a rock and can hold very high boost + the availability of the blocks dosent hurt either.

its probably take him well over 40psi to make the same power. Hmm i think maybe b series gear ratios might be too short on my car...the stock lxi ratios are pretty good as is for boost... Jason budd probably runs it because the bottom end is bulletproof and cheap

using race gas and methanol, higher compression does not play a devastating role since the otane level of the burning fuel is a lot higher than our pump gas 93 (91 at some places).

at a much lower compression, he can obviously run more boost, but it will develop traction issues when more power is created and it just gets wasted when its unable to be put down on the ground. lets say for example, you make 400hp at 10:1 cr and 30psi of boost, but with a 8.5:1 cr and 40psi of boost lets say he makes 600hp, but if he is loosing traction at 400whp and then when 500hp is reached its hard for him to hook up, then the extra 100 or 150hp is going to waste cause everytime u hit the gas, you just loose grip.

when these guys tune their motors, they tune it to a point that they got a little bit left over (hp i mean) and run standard Ets with minor adjustments.

yeah my motor 'might' be capable of 30psi, where i would hope to make around 400 whp, but i wont ever try it with THIS block, because its bored .050

my next motor is going to be stock sized pistons (or something smaller anyway) and ill basically emulate teh rest of my setup exactly, cause i think its going to be pretty solid.

ps, motor SHOULD be running either this weekend or next weekend hopefully!

yeah, stock dizzy and standalone + msd stuff.

Looks like there is something missing from the distributor though. Look at the outside of the distributor, it's missing that part with the pins in it.

i know the max is 0.030 overbore, but does that extra 0.020 actually make that huge of an impact? id like to know why cause im already getting my block 0.02 overbore and it doesnt seem like anything really, just a thin metal scraping

Well i doubt anyone has found this yet. My friend sent it to me today while i was at school and i was in complete aw over it!!! Its Jason budds a20!!! Sick ass setup! Here are some pics of it! I guss the only problem he ever had with it was the trannys kept breaking so he made a adapter so he could put B series trannys on it!! I was like HOLY SHIT!!
