Turbo A series>* Im actually surprised at his tranny failures, i really wonder what the weak link is? Jason budd has been around racing with an A20 for years now, last i saw he was running 10 flat in an 85 lude. This tranny adapter is some nice work, i bet it took him forever to fab this, seriously. It looks simple but im sure it was a nightmare. Oh yeah, look at his engine buildup... 10:1 JE pistons and pauter rods at 30psi. Im in love

Someone needs to figure out his OBD setup and what distributor he is running. Tuning on a 30PSI 10:1 compression motor would be a bitch. Really hot motor though, it is kinda inspiring to see that.

this is how he explains it

the motor runs on a full stand alone efi system which is Simple Digital Systems (sds) EM-4 the inputs for the injection come from the sds supplied crank trigger,map,IAT,ect... your right the vacum advance is removed but the dizzy still has it's trigger. the spark advance/retard is all through the MSD digi. 8. with external coil. the car was tuned at SMP by stephane beauragarde aka.Frenchy!

Just curious as to what it would take to adapt a B-series tranny to our cars, and what the advantages would be? Say we could fab an adapter plate like that, and a crankshaft spacer as well, we would still need custom axles to make up/lose the differences on each side (since the tranny is now a bit more to the right because of the adapter plate). Also, it would mean using B-series axles; are the splines the same, or would we have to change out the entire wheel hub assembly as well? What about VSS/speedo cable compatibility? I don't think it is just as easy as bolting on an adapter plate. What would be the advantage of a B-series tranny anyway? He seems to imply they are stonger. Are they, and if so, why?

thats a nice hot setup. The intake manifold looks pretty hot. A lot of custom parts and even tho the First engine shot (black engine bay) looks like a 3g engine bay (with the 3 bolt shock mount). if thats the case, then that would probably be the fastest 3g yet (even tho johnny ran a 10.4s).

    Extremely Hot.

I'm almost positive all honda splines for the axles are the same and I don't think the extra bit of width the plate adds to the tranny makes that much difference. Have you ever taken the axles out? There is quite a bit of play there, I think if anything you'd just have to adjust the camber. B series trannies have ALOT more aftermarket support, they may not be any stronger in there stock form(i dunno), but there is alot out there to upgrade them. Some one correct me if I"m wrong here.

Simply superb work!!!! mad props to the owner!

Every 3G Accord stock engine A20, B20 could be tuned at very high level to make a very fast sleeper....the problem is the availability of parts and to much to be custom...
