Bleh. Tegs are like assholes. Everyone has one. Welcome to lemmingville. I like the 3G because it's unique looking.

i think ive told you before, keep your opinions to yourself. I dont really care to hear them.

Im looking for the performance end, not the "unique" end

if i really wanted to go mainstream, id be driving an auto y5 civic with a weld on fart can, short ram, a parkbench, and chromie spinner hubcaps from walmar with 'autozone' and 'apc' decales all over it.

ill do what i wanna do, you do what you wanna do.

If you're looking for the performance end.... why not CRX with an engine swap? Little car + big engine= weeeeeeeee

But sorry... around here, mainstream= integra/civic with fartcan and a few bolt ons, with 'plans' to go turbo. Maybe some spraypainted calipers.

One.... I see 10x more 3g's than I do integra's... especially the generation he's looking at (bug eye one's lol)

You could say the same thing about 3g's.
"3g's are like assholes. Everyone has one. Welcome to lemmingville. I like the integra because it's unique looking."

Same fucking thing. Just because you think something is "common" doesn't mean they are bad cars. Generally, that means they are nice cars because people like them. I have a common car... so do you. Put your nose down and realize you are not GOD because you have a 3g.

don't get me wrong, I loved my 3g. But either way it doesn't give you the right to bash a car because of how common it is.

If you have reason to hate the car other than how common it is.. then tell us. If you don't like the body style... ok, fine, keep that to yourself. However, if you know they have problems, then go ahead and say it, it could be helpfull to that person later on.

    Build up, don't tear down.

    Re: Halxi/Deadhead photoshoot

read my post that explains why im selling my car.

i need something thats NOT a project car.

i guess you will be able to call my idea of a teg "mainstream"...

    plans consist of
    - tein coilovers (havent decided on which line yet)
    - upgraded sway bars
    - upgraded rear lower control arms
    - upper strut tower bars
    - upgraded brakes (big brakes, with slotted rotors)
    - rota circuit 8's
    - the usual I/H/E, and ill probably go with some cams, better ignition system, and a few jdm parts

im not even going to lie to anybody about "plans for boost", yes id like to boost it. But im not planning on it.

Its time to move on from a 3g, and this seems like a content place to move to with my current position. Better aftermarket support, more power, better technology, less miles, overall better condition.

crx + b16 = mainstream... everyone and their mom does that swap

Thing is, most 3gs are pieces of crap, beat up, mexied out, riced out, or totally stock. It's RARE and UNIQUE to have one like yours, which looks good. Your car with new paint would be way hotter than some stupid superstreet integra. And ...um.. the 3g isn't my main car. I just bought it as a daily. I have a few rare cars, because I like rare cars.

BS dude. What do you see more often? An integra with rims, suspension, brakes, fartcan, couple JDM parts (JDM badges omg!) and plans to boost? Or a CRX with an engine swap that hauls major ass? Your 3g has a great suspension, sure it need a little power, but more importantly it needs paint. Your interior is great, your exhaust is great, etc etc etc. Integras and civics are EVERYWHERE. Heck, open the page of any import mag and 95% of the time it'll be either an integra or a civic. You sure you want to dare to be different and be like 500,000,000 honda enthusiasts? Or do you want the old school JDM look and uniqueness of owning a clean looking nicely modded 3G?

    Re: Halxi/Deadhead photoshoot

see, this is where you ASSUME, im doing that shit.

I HATE fart cans. Pure and simple.

The only logical reason for me to have a fart can, would mean im running about 15psi and at least a full 3" (downpipe back) exhaust. Thats the ONLY way a fart can would EVER make it to my car. Period.

Im talking JDM front end, further down the road, maybe an itr suspension assembly for a 5lug conversion.

Also, what did i make VERY clear in my post? IM NOT PLANNING FOR BOOST. I also made it clear, my 3g is a PROJECT car. Which i cannot afford at this stage in life (im 16, no job. and even when i had a job, my 3g sucked all my money).

To get my car body work, and a DECENT respray of the facotry color, and put a new motor in it (it has one hell of a rod knock in it right now), it would cost me near 8g's.

Ive had thoughts of other cars to be "different" kuz you never see them, but to do what i want is way out of my budget. I was thinkin a 6th gen 4door, lowered, with a BUILT JDM N/A h22 in it. But that car is too high in pricing to start with, and it would remain stock for far too long. And i will admit, they are an absolute BITCH car stock.

I'm not the one angry here. Maybe you should tell him to take some pills. I like his accord. I'm sad to see him get something... less cool, in my eyes. His accord would look hot.

And sorry dude... you could get a new engine and the MINOR bodywork your car requires and a respray for WAY less than 8 grand. More like 2-3. Especially if you have friends in the business.

    Re: Halxi/Deadhead photoshoot

I dont have friends in the buisness though, and i wouldnt be putting in a factory spec engine.

I know all the little dents/dings in my car... it needs A LOT of body work, and the only way to paint 90% of my car is strip it to the bare metal, then respray. Since all of the paint is cracking. I could do the body work myself, but i wouldnt be able to shoot the paint.

3gn86lxi, lol... i just get tired of this over opinionated guy and had to finally voice my opinion... if a mod would like to clean this thread up that would be greatly appriciated!

My 3g will be around for a few more months, i need to get financials straight. But once i do get that part of it done, theres no going back. Ive already put $4500 into this car, and thats been mainly in just replacing parts that have broke/worn out. Only about $1500 of that ($450 suspension, $300 exhaust, $700 wheels/tires, $50 CAI) has been mods...

    Re: Halxi/Deadhead photoshoot

Ha! So those are the tracks you guys were talking about... nice.

Hmm... about the car, thinking about what I would do in your situation... I would try to stay with what you can afford. One thing you could do:

Get another 3g (they're cheap) that runs good, with a decent body... park your current car, drive the other one. If you have a place to put the car (get a storage space?), take off the suspension and other good parts you want to hold onto. As you save money, get used parts from a junkyard, put it on the parked car, then sell it cheap. When you have the time, put the good parts on the car you're driving.

Or, the other option is to get another motor for it, and just live with it for now... messed up paint? Who cares?! Rust? So what?! That just gives you more of a reason to beat the living crap out of the car and not worry about messing something up. Sure, when your car is sitting there and you're looking at it, you're thinking it'd be nice with a new paint job... but once you step inside, from your perspective as a driver, does any of that REALLY matter to you? What matters? Power, handling, suspension, steering, the feel of the pedals, throttle, how the transmission feels, etc. Those are the things I would focus on instead of the body (unless it's affecting any of that). It's just an opinion, but if you want to be efficient, take care of what's REALLY important and try to live with what isn't as important until you can afford it.

Or you could get something different and newer that will cost even more in the end. Newer and different is nice, but I've come to realize that NICE = EXPENSIVE. I wouldn't blame you either way, it just depends on your individual standards for nice/efficient and want/need.
