I raced turbo charged 240sx's both times..how lame is that? i didnt stand a chance either time ..after i lost the 2nd race they said i was eleminated and had to go park or go way back to the back of the big ass line that stretched nearly to the entrence gate and wait for the will call for Test and Tune..which would be hella late + i was runing out of gas so i left..oh well

i dont think those times are that bad for a 21 year old honda

    (my car is BONE stock)

seems about average for a stock 3g.

offtopic: do you know what engines the 240sx's had?
Four cars (and one motorcycle) in three years and not one with a cupholder...this is the story of my life.

You should be able to run a flat 17.0 My car has about 50 runs on a g tech and all are about 17.0 1/4

Mine is an 88 built 87 i have the split manifold maybe that the differance.

Looking at your times your mph is off I get into the mid 80's everytime. You down on HP somewhere.

Your tach it out every gear right? I end up in third right at the redline and the end of the 1/4.

EDIT: thats with 190/60 /14 tires

It depends on so many things. Your launch technique, the temp of the track, the traction of your tires, hte PSI of your tires, how recently your engine has been running (if the intake manifold is nice and warm you're going to be going a lot slower because you'll be soaking all the intake air with heat). Lots of reasons. But... do you have an automatic?

i was runing 32psi in all my tires

it was really warm out today so the track temp was good..and so is this burger im eating now yuuuuummm

the engine has 234,xxx miles on it so im not supprised im down a few HP and my intake mani dosent have the dual butterflys so i dont have as much power as some of you

the 1st 240 prolly had an SR20DET he ran pretty quick and the other seemd like it had a K20ADET or w/e thats called

my car is manual, and my air filter was really dirty, and it was my first time at the track so my lauches were really shitty, and i was under pressure by 11 sec. crx that kept running against oh and i also have very shitty tires.....

Pump your rears to 45 next time. They only slow you down and they don't do anything.

45psi in the rear smaller tire contact patch so your draging less rubber in the rear and help weight transfer less ass crouching. KA24DE-t

Your rear wheels do nothing in dragging a FWD car. They're just along for the ride, and they are only providing resistence. By overinflating your rears, you're making them balloon outwards, so they'll only be riding on the center of the tread, not the entire tread. They'll also be harder and firmer, and the sidewall will not flex as much. All of this will reduce rolling resistence, and give you a slightly faster time. Also, be sure to adjust your drum brakes to make sure they aren't dragging much.

agreed. Get your front tires aired down to about 16-18psi and do a burnout (if possible) you should be able to get close to 17 flat on a good launch maybe
