    Warm Up Idle

When cold starting(below freezing) my 87 LX carbed, goes into what I believe is the 2nd stage, about 1200 rpm for maybe 5 minutes, then goes up to 2200-2500 rpm(3rd stage?) until engine warms up to normal. I believe this is the opposite of what it should be. If so, does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? I keep thinking it will die while I'm scraping the windows.
It is more of a nuisance at this point, but something must be out of whack.
    Thanks.

Try hitting the throttle a little when you first start it and see if the idle stays up?

Yeah, I've tried revving it up several times, but it drops back to about 11-1200 until something warms a little, then goes up to 2200 or so. The weather is warming up, so I'll see what happens. Thanks for your help.
