Did you rebuild your calipers? I would just because they tend to have problems with them and yours looked almost as bad as mine did. I was considering spray painting mine but i figured why not powdercoat them instead so i have to finish sand blasting the arms. I already did the calipers and brackets i just have to get the re-build kit and re-assemble them.

They are pretty easy to take apart the hardest part was getting the c-clip out of the caliper because its so deep and my clip tool wouldnt fit that deep. But looks nice and good luck!

how much did you pay for the whole setup? A local honda/acura junk yard wants $250 for both sides and that doesnt include one caliper.

do you actually feel performance change with the rear changed to disck? It seems that most of us wont reach to the point where you need the rear to stop harder.

I really dont care about braking power really if its all the same. I just want to convert to rear disk for the sporty look. O am bored wit the boring stock car look of a drum back there, especially since I am getting new rims soon.

By having rear disk you get more even breaking the drum's Don't work good most of the time and thay come out of adjustment all the time

Let me know if you ever feel the difference. It seems like more of an "Look" mod than a performance mod at this point.

No, four disc braking is an performance upgrade.

This is the feature of the SEi performance upgrade.

The package is going to cost you about $250 if you get all the right parts with the correct SEi swap ie: 4 door/2 door coupe the Knuckles and rotors are not the concern its the correct E-brake cables if they are not the right ones you'll spend $100.00 from Honda to get the correct ones.

Twoloudandproud got real lucky on his set up for $125, I've called all over the place and the average is $250. But I would highly recommend it if it is within your budget.

The drums I have never had a problem with with over 100,000 miles on ride I'v only done the brake all the way around twice with the most recent one this past December.

    Hope this helps, LOL
    Phil

If rear disk were only a performance mod then why did Honda waste their time and money engineering rear discs?

You have a point there justin. I'm just wondering how much of a performance gain you get from the disc upgrade. I was thinking of whether to dish the money for a rears (let alone find a set) with upgrade pads, lines and fluid or just everything without the rears. I was hoping someone with rears can help me decide by getting me more info about it.

But to each man his own.

With Rear disk i will give you more Control Breaking at high speed then Drums breaks and over all better Breaking it make a big difference.I had a 88 New yorker that i put Rear disk from a Datona it was like Night and day difference after i did it .Drums breaks over heat at Hight speeds when you use them Rear disk wiil cool much faster then Drums.

thanks for the info! I think I will research more on the differences and figure out whether its worth my trouble to get them.

Definitely a great find for Tom. $125.00 for such a rare item is amazing, let alone finding one in california. Hope to see your car again in person.
