    Exclamation How many quarts of oil does a manual tranny hold?

    I'm taking my car home tomm. from rebuilding the motor & all my manuals are in the car. Does anyone know roughly about how many quarts of oil the manual tranny can hold up to the fill hole?

    I have driven in a pinch down to the auto parts store on a quart. I kept it outta 5 th of course.

    Mine holds about 3.75 quarts. Just got done changing mine.

    Mine takes about two and a half quarts (which agrees well with the factory service manual).

    Yeah, about 2 and a half quarts should be what it takes, the filling location can be difficult to get to however, so i would advise getting a funnel with a hose at the end.

    Another thing, I recomend using honda mtf instead of motor oil in the trans. I know it's not required, but it does seem to function a little better in my opinion.

    My engine takes 3.7...my tranny takes about 2.5. Sorry for the mixup...I should read closer next time.

    Here is what made it home on 2.5 quarts of sythetic oil after a rebuild bitches.

    Edit- That is me being funny & sarcastic cause I been drinking a few. NO harm at all. Pay no attention to me. LOL

    my b20a tranny was about two and a half. good to replace that gear oil when you get to.

    Say you were to use motor oil. What type should one use? 10w 30? or what?

    I run sythetic 10w30, but little thicker oil IMO should be better.
