    Wink going to experiment alittle.....

so since my main project(efi) is on hold for alittle while, i figure i mock up this extra carb intake and throw something 4bbl on it divided ofcourse.

so i dont think its been asked(yes i did search), what kinda vehicles would come with 390cfm/500cfm 2bbl carbs stock, or does it really matter unless its a 302ci or bigger?

eg.. would a carb from a older 5.0l stang work?

hah i shold take some pics of my garage, and all the shit laying there i havent finished yet lol, just flying all over the place.

if magically this has been asked but my searching didnt turn anything up, i apologize.

They have 4 cylinder domestic fords with carbs... not sure what car or year though. Maybe a 6 cylinder... or a small V8.

I was actually thinking of getting the 650 cfm (Holley 4175) = 919.12bbl converted CFM Divided would be 459.55 CFM each side.
I would mod the crap out of it to knock down the richness. I just liked how much smaller the primaries were. If I could convert it to be vacuum secondary then it should be fine considering the majority of the flow is from the secondaries... any other 650 CFM carb I would probably turn down because the size of the primary and secondary are probably closer together.

Edelbrock is soo much cheaper though, and they offer the AVS, Adjustable Valve Secondary. Also all the carbs they sell on Summit Racing include a free tuning booklets. Holley doesn't offer one.

    Then there is the PREDATOR.

I gave up trying to get cheap Demon Jr.s or a C&S carb.

well, maybe if i just went and found a small v8 and took the carb off of it.
actually a 318 or a 360,383 if it has a holley on it i might just go for one of those since our wrecking yard has 100's of them laying there in dodge trucks and aspens, darts. damn, gettin excited now lol.

as far as the devider goes i'm just going to make it as part of the adapter plate that sticks/seals to the intake manifold as i dont have any argon to weld any aluminum up for my mig.

    Use " alumaloy "
    http://www.alumaloy.net/

thats the route I'm going to seal up any potential vacuum leaks and seal in the divider.

cooool, but couldnt i just do the same thing with my rod welder(i have one of those to, old but it works, has aluminum sticks). errrr wait, should be used with some form of flame right.

oh what about, jb weld(liquid metal????) or what ever its called, pinball kid used that to plug up all open vacuum ports.

Allotta your older domestics used a 2 barrel type holley carb.

All the ford small blocks in the 70's did. The commonly called motorcraft 2 barrels. I dont think there any chevys that actually used the holley style carb nor dodge. My 72 IH scout 2 actually had a real model 2300 holly carb on it just like what summit sells. it's the only vehicle that I can think of that had one just like summits sells. I have no idea the cfm rating but id guess there the 350 cfm style.

Hey vector, why are you wanting a 2bbl? Since, most domestics are 4 and most of the stock domestic 4bbls would be about the right amount of cfm for our cars? Just a thought.

Alumaloy is not a welding rod for an arch welder... least not that I know of. You use propane. I uses quick steel which is like JB weld but really if you want to seal it well you want to use the Alumaloy or get it welded.

that was the initial plan, its not really experimenting if i just stick another 2bbl carb on my engine, thats why i was thinking somthing more along the lines of somthing off a 5.0l or somthing
