    check ignition light

    hey guys .. quick question....
this has been happening to me for about 9-10 months now and I can't find the source of the problem... my forum searching didnt yield any results neither..

For now, it doesn't appear to be anything major (i hope) but every now and then when I'm driving, the 'Check Engine' light will come on and remain on for the entire duration of the drive. If I pull over, turn the ignition off and start it again the light goes off and usually won't come on again. It has been randomly doing this every 1-2 weeks of driving... Any ideas or suggestions on what to check .?. or what the cause is

    thanx

    CH

It's hard to say. The smallest things can set off the check engine light, at least in newer cars. For example on some newer cars if the gas cap is loose,
the check engine light will come on. Take it to the honda dealer and have them run diagnostics.

Did you read the code on the ecu under the drivers seat? You will have a sequence of blinks from the red led. You can get the code from the manual that is posted on this forum to tell you what the blink pattern means.

    Re: check ignition light

So I started my car, checked the computer under the driver seat and no lights were blinking at all.
I assume I have to wait until the next time the light comes on, and before
shutting the car off, then look and see if its giving me a reading.

    Y/N ..?.. thanx once again
