lol. Victor just pinch the egr tube off at the intake manifold, or cap it. Leave the egr valve on it. Got pics of this custom manifold?

some of the things i dont understand:

with converting to odb1 will i need a fmu?
what should i get for an enexpensive wideband setup for tuning. will be runnig chiped ecu, not sure what program.

i have a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, am i gonna need it on this set up.

i am reading some of seand old stuff and i am trying to figure out all the crap i can get rid of. i just want the very basice, i dont need any emissions stuff

    Re: Victors turbo non-progress thread

I thought they suggest regular plugs when going turbo. Or was it the Platinums that had hard to regap tips that were bad (eg. Platinum +4's)?

I guess those irridiums allow you to adjust the gap so they should be okay.
    What heat range are they?

From my understanding you should be just fine using iridiums, just run less gap then you would stock.

Looks good though, be sure to keep us updated.

BTW< what shifter is that? i'm assuming some sort of short shifter?

That awsome dude seems like you are coming along quickly with the turbo project. As for the EGR, you could go ahead and match a b16 intake manifold to the head and not have to worry about blocking the EGR.

with the obd1 setup he should not have to worry about emmisions. I bet the car will run cleaner then it had before.

    They're usually pretty cheap.
I can get one for $75 plus tax.

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

    Re: Victors turbo non-progress thread

looks like you got most off your stuff. I would recomend against the t3/t4, you really need to rev the shit out of your engine to make decent boost. Maybe that what you want but on the streets/daily driving they suck IMO.
As for the tuning unless you are paying to have it done a dyno with all their sensors I would highly recomend on a good wideband and EGT sensor, along with an ECU capable of dataloging. I'd go with the PLX R-500 and it all worth the $500 price tag. AEM is ok but over priced for their wideband.

would a regular t3 be more suitable. the t25 is too small, the t3/t4 is too big, what is a just right sized turbo?

    Re: Victors turbo non-progress thread

T3 60/48 should give you excellent results, fully boosted around 3000, pretty responsive, supports 300hp and cheap. Plus uses a straight up T3 flange. I rock a T3 60/63 so its got a bigger turbine side but that gives me big top end. Do not use those denso Iridiums. Get some straight up NGK bpr7es, 2 steps colder than stock.
