    k series swap

hey i was reading about the dude with the h series and that's pretty awesome, but what have people thought about K series swaps, as size goes could it happen? or is the engine just too big for the bay?

it's been done in an 84-87 civic, the 88-91 ludes, and hasport makes mount kits for the 88-91 civic/crx, so i don't see why it couldn't be done in a 3g. the only thing stopping most people is the cost/benefit ratio. i'm guessing a swap like that would run well above $10,000. and with that money, you could turbo the hell out of an a20 and you'll be making more power than a k20 with probably half of the price.

k20 would be sick as hell, and you would have some crazy BLING status, instead of an old motor with turbo. then you could always turbo the hell outa the k... mmmmm. turbo k 3g coupe. wow!

I agree with Giovanni, I'd rather build an a20 that makes more power than a k- series, than to just do a swap. I would take more pride in it

4g63t was also the engine for all turbo'd eclipses (), talons and plymouth lasers. also came in galant vr-4. and it's the current (evo 8/9) engine too, except the one in the new evo is a a mirror image of the older one (not turned around like the k-series, but actually a mirror image on the other side).
anyway, back on topic. as has already been stated, anything is possible with the right amount of cash. so if you feel as if a k-powered 3g would fulfill you and you have the cash, i will stand aside and let you go for it. i myself actually want to try one just for the novelty of it all. but i lack the funds and space for such a project.

One correction... All references to that K20A powered 3G Lude are bogus. Yeah, they had a lude with the engine out, and a K20, so they sat the engine in the bay and took pics. There has been no word of real pics of the engine in the car and running.
