    Cool New project.

So I got a 88 LXi as a project car. It's a POS. for real. But it will be beautiful.

Uhh, no front bumper. Already picked one up from the junkyard to hold me over until I get my bodykit. No headlights either, they're in the trunk. I want to put a B20A in there later.

Speakers.... or lack there of. About to order some kenwoods and a bazooka sub tho.

Eventually going to shave the moldings, slap on a Xenon bodykit and paint it balck.

Small cancer spot nothing big. Going to shave "HONDA" and "ACCORD" badges.

Only real nice part about the car. Going to convert to manual tranny when I get the B20A

Well guys, wish me luck. (If anyones got any helpful hints that would be amazing.)

I can't get the cancer off my trunk lid... I got it from another member on here and he whiped it to bare metal I tried painting it but there are spots that keep coming back.

Well I'm a$$ deep in my project So I know what your in for! Good luck! Are you doing the work yourself? Are you shaving the trim? Is that white or light silver?

Birthdays are good for you!! Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.

Yeah im little worried about the rust. Hopefully god will shine his light down upon me. It's champagne. And i haven't decided about the trim. I might not since I'm painting black.

    Re: New project.

Replace that trunk and you wont have a problem with the rust. The only way to get rid of rust is to cut it out or replace the panel. Sanding down and bondoing or painting will do nothing but delay it shortly.

    Re: New project.

cuz the motor in there now is a pos and ill barely have it running between now and the time i'm doing that swap. I'd have to get a swap soon anyway so i want to do a b20a

besides the swap wasn't the first thing i thought, it was the 4th or 5th lol

    Re: New project.

A motor swap isn't all that easy. If you know how to do it yourself then go ahead but if your going to pay a shop to do it then you will be spending a lot more money then what its worth IMO. Instead of listing 20 things you want to do just start off with one and complete it fully before even thinking about the next, if you try to do more then one major thing at a time it gets really fustrating. Good luck and let us know what your doing first.

    Re: New project.

this guy sounds like my friend alex and his 3rd gen civic hatch. started off as a total grandpa spec bomb but he shaved the badges and the side trim and more. it took him a while but he had the determination to get it done and he did. Good luck man.

btw how rare are b20a manual boxes in america. I know here in nz they r a bitch to find, so rare. im lucky i got mine from a b18a dual carb vigor for $80NZ from my mates backyard junkyard.

other people say a b20a isnt a b series..well the engine code starts with B doesnt it WHATAREYOUKIDDINGMEGETOUTOFHERE it is so! It just needs a lot of work to be able to be as strong as the b series engines. a b20a is a good engine as long as you dont neglect it. as soon as you do eg not changing oil and over'revving it you might end up with a ventilated block like i did on my last yunkyard engine (forgot to change the oil and it had water in the bottom of the sump)

good luck mAAAn these are real fun cars to build thats one thing ive learnt in my 3 years of owning 3G accords

    Re: New project.

yeah, I plan to get it running first lol. My priorities are to fix the leak in the motor, get a new tranny in there, put on the bumper and headlights, and install the speakers and sub because god knows I can't function without music. So pretty much I wanna get it running so I can start building on it.

Looks like a good car to start for a project, & sounds like you have good ideas. =) Im not a fan of the interior colour scheme though.

    Re: New project.

It would definitely cost less. Not to mention take a shorter time to find. B20A is something you do for the JDM or OEM tuning, if you're into that.
If you want cheap speed, turbo is the way to go.
