rebuilding an engine, need some help

well, i got my engine a week ago and im going to need to put it on an engine stand for disassembly. since the stand im buying doesnt include bolts(nor would any stand for that matter) i was wondering if someone can tell me the thread pitch and length of bolts needed to hold the engine onto the stand properly. i dont feel like going to the hardware store and buying a bunch of bolts only to figure out none of them will fit properly or arent long enough

About 6 inches. It depends on how thick the engine stand holder thing is.
