    rear window trim

i dont know if anyone else has had the problem of the rear window trim pealing or not. the plastic or rubber coating that mine had was cracking and comming off on it. so i decided to scrape all of it off today and polish it out to match the side window trim on the doors. here's a pic. i'll try to get some more when its not night time. i still need to do the top piece but i didnt have time. and i need to get something to hold it on because its kinda glued in place.

My back window's passenger side trim fell off, I'm still trying to locate a few new clips to hold it on, and the incompetent people at the dealer keep ordering the wrong ones

Yeah I think they stick onto the body and then the window trim slides over it. Thank you so much! I would really appreciate that man, I kid you not, 3 honda dealer techs have ordered the wrong ones for me. My address is 1465 NW division st. #1 Corvallis, OR 97330.

    Re: rear window trim

i dont think laquer thinner would work too well. even paint stripper might have some problem getting the plastic coating off the trim. i resorted to a heat gun and razor blade to scrape it off, then used a wire rotory wheel to get what was left off. then i went over it with a polishing wheel and that ended up getting all the rest of the stuff off and polishing the metal as well. i think its stainless steel, not aluminium or chromed steel. i dont think i'm going to do the top part anytime soon, it looks fine without it done. now it looks like everything matches since the door windows have the polished trim on it also.

    Re: rear window trim

yeah, same here. i dont have much money to speak of to spend on my car at the moment. so i'm pretty much doing stuff i dont have to spend money on. i already have the polishing compound and felt polish wheels for my hand held rotory tool. i'm also doing a set of rims with that, i just need some more of those felt wheels to get it all done. and then a bit of paint and clear coat. i'm probably not gonna paint my car up anytime soon, but i do plan of fixing the air conditioning in about a month at school.

    Re: rear window trim

I repainted my rear trim with bumper paint and a few layers of clear. Here's a shot of the finished product:

Just scrape, light sanding, mask, and spray. I also redid my antenna base in the same fashion.

yeah man i agree...it would stand out more if you have dark tint next to the polished trims. that is how my uncle plans on doing it.
