Where to actually FIND turbo manifold?

I've seen lots of things on the boards about turbo-ing your car, and they've been very informative, but where do you actually find a turbo exhaust manifold for an A20A3? I can't seem to find one anywhere I've looked.

yeah no one will make a turbo for our cars since i think not all of them are fuel injection. on a parts website and they only have B and D series set ups. like 86AccordLxi said everything has to be built. check out Victors setup.

wow, well in that case I think I will just stick to naturally aspirated. If I ever drop in a new slightly built motor I might even hook up some nitrous to it, that way I can have the power when I go to the dragstrip Just run a small shot.
I was considering turbo, but if I have to go through the trouble of getting a turbo manifold for it I think I'll just wait.

Quick question though, what does it usually cost to get one made?

why don't you try to make a tri-y top mount using a simple extension from the factory 88-89 manifold.

yeah, those manifolds run like $750 CA. so that's probably about $650 US. you can get one custom-made for cheaper. much cheaper if you can do all the welding yourself. but how well it'll perform depends on your design.

hey man make one yourself, its realy not that hard, get a stock manifold and grind off the pipes so its just the plate, then have someone mill the plate so its flat, then get 3 1.5 steel t pieces and a 90 deg bend and weld it up then put a turbo flange on itif your not confident with a welder just tac weld it then have a pro welder do the rest for ya be alot cheaper than getting someone make one
dont worry mate, that'll buff right out

in that case, just talk to SQ is the SQUAD. he's doing the exact same thing, except he found someone who sells just the exhaust manifold flange. it'll save you a bit of trouble from having to cut and grind.

hmm, that just sounds like tons of trouble. I think if I go turbo I'll do it on my little 91 Civic, I can get the manifold for $150, lol. The more I think about it I think I'll just stay NA with the Accord since turbo parts are hard to find, but thanks anyway guys I was just curious.

"You cannot modify and use the stock exhaust manifold or an aftermarket header. It will not work, do not try it."
So is it ok to modify the stock manifold? Or not?
Ok, and one other dumbass question while im here - a18a a20a exhaust manifolds the same? yes?

alot o d sereis manifolds are capable of being modded as a turbo manifold. i just saw a thread on homemadeturbo where someone modded a 2 pc header like our dc/pacesetter header unto a top mount turbo manifold

thats gonna work until the primary tubes melt unless its full stainless. It could be done on a stock cast iron exhaust manifold, kind of like an up pipe configuration

Re: Where to actually FIND turbo manifold?

This is what I am going to try to do:

    http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1564066&page=1

Last I checked, the front crossmember gets in the way on our Accords, but that was when my engine mounts were broken. Maybe now the pipes will clear. Otherwise I will have to hack up the crossmember and weld it a bit.

I am just finishing up my B series radiator swap, along with my manual swap. I will post a how to in a week or so about both projects. I took lots of pictures. Next up will be the OBD-1, and then I will work on this turbo manifold.

Re: Where to actually FIND turbo manifold?

that would work although i have no idea how well. I bet it would be better than a log but ive only seen a handful of guys run them like this so im really not sure. I had to cut up my crossmember for my turbo set up, its tough to make things fit right in there but im sure its a possibility

Re: Where to actually FIND turbo manifold?

yeah if we have them use an a20 flange, and we have them put the turbo outlet lower (so the turbo doesnt sit so far forward in the engine bay) we could put the WG in the middle (better) and with a civic radiator on the passenger side, I think this could work nicely!

good find with that f22parts.com people!

EDIT: omg that manifold looks so much like an A20 manifold it makes me excited to look at it... heheha

yeah ive been talking to the owner and i told him about this site. he said they make all kinds of custom parts and they could easily make other parts for us too. he said he doesnt need a flange or anything that hes going to try and find as much info as he can. hes sounds like a good guy so hopefully i can get one made from him and you guys are going to be able to get them too.

Re: Where to actually FIND turbo manifold?

i would be MORE interesting in paying a bit more for an ELR manifold personally, but if we can start off with some logs that fit, that would be more than acceptable.

the HT log vs elr dyno video (granted on a high hp car) proves to me that elr is worth the money/hassle... ill see if i can dig up the video

EDIT: i found the video, 250whp with log manifold, 312whp with equal length manifold. WELL worth the $300-$400 price difference.

bobafett, with my xspower t3/t4 i found it esiest to mount the flange directly undetr the 2 and 3 runner and mount the bov flanfer off the top of #2. i am using a civic half rad all the way to the passenger side and its still a tight ass fit
